IMCA and MTS are the most accredited bodies giving guidance for the offshore players operating DP units.
Both of them have release, among the others, guidelines on the preparation of the DP Operation Manual.
Medea has recently carried out a Gap Analysis of an IMCA-based DPOM and, therefore, went in depth with the comparison between the IMCA and MTS requirements: plenty of differences have been unexpectedly discovered while, fortunately, all of them found complementary.
As results of the study, Medea has released an hybrid and all-inclusive DPOM, especially useful for those DP vessels operating, without any restrictions, under both spheres of influence, ie. IMCA and MTS.
